Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the news, media and entertainment services published by uvrentoh from our newsroom in Cape Town. By opening the site or using any of our services you agree to be bound by them, and they are made available to you in line with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

Scope of Services

uvrentoh publishes reporting, analysis and entertainment coverage for readers across South Africa, with particular attention to national and Western Cape politics, business and the JSE, the film and television industry the Cape is built on, music and festivals, and sport. Where we publish audio or video we work within the classification framework of the Film and Publication Board, and any broadcast service is subject to the codes administered by ICASA and the BCCSA. Our journalism is bound by the South African Press Code, and complaints about it may be taken to the Press Council of South Africa and the Press Ombud.

User Obligations

  • Users must act lawfully and may not use the site to harass, defame or mislead other people.
  • Copying, republishing or redistributing our content without written permission is prohibited.
  • Keeping account and newsletter details secure remains the responsibility of the user.

Intellectual Property

All articles, photographs, audio, video and design elements belong to uvrentoh or to our licensors and are protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978. Short quotation with clear attribution and a link back is welcome; wholesale reproduction is not.

Limitation of Liability

uvrentoh does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or free of error, and access may be affected by load-shedding or by network faults outside our control. To the extent allowed by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, we accept no liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on what you read here.

These terms may be amended without prior notice. The version published on this page is the current one and the date at the top shows when it last changed, so please look it over from time to time.
